About us
We've sat on the vendor's side. Now we sit on yours.
YourSideTech was started by IT professionals who spent years inside software companies, from 10-person studios to firms of 2,500, writing estimates and delivering projects for clients around the world. We know how quotes are built. Now that knowledge works for you.
Who reviews your quote
Experienced people from the industry, on every review.
Each review is written by an experienced lead analyst. For larger or specialist quotes, a senior reviewer or a specialist from our network checks the findings, so the right person looks at your quote.
15+ yrs
Senior reviewers

6+ yrs

Cloud, mobile, security and e-commerce experts, brought in when your quote needs them.
Why we exist
Buying IT is hard when you can't see inside the work.
Again and again we saw business owners agree to quotes they didn't fully understand. Usually not because anyone acted in bad faith, but because they had no one experienced to ask. Meanwhile, how software is built is changing fast, and buyers deserve to understand what that means for the work they're paying for.
Our mission
To make sure every business buying IT has an experienced, independent expert on its side.
Fair to both sides
Expensive isn't the problem. Unexplained is.
Between us, we've worked everywhere from 10-person studios to large global tech companies. We know that experience, process and accountability cost money, and that a senior team at a big firm can rightly cost far more per hour than a freelancer. The people working on your project may simply be more experienced, and often worth it.
A higher rate can be fair
Senior engineers, project managers, proper testing, security and support all cost money. When a premium is worth paying, we'll tell you so.
Big hours need a clear reason
What we look at is the effort: whether the hours fit the work described, and whether it's clear what each part is for.
We translate the jargon
Technical language can make it hard to judge how big a task really is. We explain what's being built in plain words, and whether an existing API, service or library could do part of it.
What the quote says, and what it means
- “A custom authentication microservice with OAuth 2.0 and JWT session management”
- A login system.Worth asking: Would a ready-made service such as Firebase Authentication or Auth0 work here, and how would that change the effort?
- “An event-driven, real-time notification architecture”
- Sending app notifications.Worth asking: Will a service such as Firebase Cloud Messaging or OneSignal handle delivery, and which parts are custom?
- “A secure, PCI-compliant payment orchestration layer”
- Taking online payments.Worth asking: Does a payment provider such as Razorpay or Stripe handle card security, and what does the work around it involve?
These are illustrations, not criticisms. Many projects genuinely need the custom version. What matters is that you understand which one you're paying for, and why.
What we stand for
On your side
You pay us, so we work for you. If we have a relationship with any vendor we mention, we say so upfront.
Plain language
No jargon. If we can't explain it simply, we haven't understood it well enough.
Fair to everyone
Good vendors deserve to be paid well. We help you understand a quote, not squeeze honest work.
Straight answers
We tell you what a quote does well, not just what it misses, and we never promise savings we can’t stand behind.
